May 8th: Why Do We Eat Blintzes on Shavuot?
Join Rabbi Yael Werber and CBST member Larry Finkelstein for an evening of learning and baking. We will first learn about the custom of eating blintzes, cheesecake, and ice cream on Shavuot. We will then make a blintz casserole all together, and leave plenty of time for eating and enjoying together!
May 15th: Queer Talmud Learning
What does the Talmud say about how to fix a situation in which you've already benefited from stolen goods? How does this intersect with teachings of contemporary Black and Indigenous teachers about reparations, decolonization and more? Join Xava De Cordova and Binya Kóatz of Yeshiva Shel Maala, a digital-first Queer Yeshiva, for a deep dive into the case of the stolen beam, a custom daf featuring the insights of Black and Indigenous thinkers and revolutionaries on these ideas, and the opportunity to connect deeply with your co-learners and the text.
May 22nd: Writing Your Own Holy Text with Soferet Leana Tapnack
Join Soferet Leana Tapnack of Stam Scribes to learn about the ancient art of Safrus (Jewish scribal writing). Discover the history and technique behind this craft and gain hands-on experience at writing Hebrew letters yourself. No matter your experience or skill level, this workshop will deepen your appreciation for the beauty and power of the written word

These sessions are intended to provide a hands-on experience, and there will be components that can only be done in person. If you are attending as an online participant, please be aware that we cannot provide materials for you to do the activities at home.
Rabbinic Readings of Ruth
May 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th (Tuesdays) at 6:00 p.m.
This four week class will examine passages in the Talmud, and other Rabbinic sources, that explore verses in the Book of Ruth in preparation for Shavuot.
